Terms

Last updated 2026-08-09

ShortSmith is not on sale yet. Today this site does one thing — it takes an address for the early-access list — and that part is settled. The rest describes the app and the shape of the licence it will ship under. The licence terms, the refund policy and the governing law are not final; they will be stated here in full before anything can be bought, not after.

The site today

Joining the early-access list costs nothing, creates no account, and buys nothing. The tier names and “early access” labels on the front page are not an offer; pricing is set at launch. What happens to your address is on the Privacy page.

The app

ShortSmith assembles short-form and long-form video from media you provide, and publishes it to accounts you connect, on schedules you set, after you approve each post. A scheduled job whose recipe is not in the approved state does not publish.

Your content, your responsibility

You keep every right to your content. You are responsible for holding the rights to the media you bring, and for the published result complying with each platform’s rules and with the law — including YouTube’s Inauthentic Content policy.

The approval gate is a feature that makes you the one who signed off. It is not a warranty that a platform will agree with you.

ShortSmith puts no mark of its own on your video. If there is a watermark, it is the one you set in your own format profile.

Keys, accounts and spend

Model vendors, the posting aggregator and the platforms are your accounts, on your keys, at your cost. Instagram and TikTok publishing runs through an aggregator you pay for separately. We resell none of it and take no cut of it.

Acceptable use

No spam, no deceptive content, no automation that breaks a platform’s policies. You may modify your own copy; if you do, what we can help with is the version we shipped, not your changes.

Licence and updates

Two things the front page promises, which the licence has to carry when it is written: the version you have installed keeps working after a subscription ends, and a subscription buys updates and new platform connectors rather than the right to keep running what you already have. Until that licence text exists, those are commitments on a marketing page, not clauses in this document — which is exactly why this section is not written yet.

Refunds

Nothing can be bought here yet, so there is nothing to refund.

No warranty, and the limit of what we owe

The software is provided as is. Platforms change their rules and their APIs; we patch, and we do not promise that any platform keeps accepting posts.
